Dawn, a woodland fairy, and Nalu, a mermaid, are animated characters created for NVidia to demonstrate the company's technology. With high-resolution photorealistic textures, the models of both Dawn and Nalu are extremely lifelike. When connected to HDPS, the characters have the ability to interact with audiences in real time, demonstrating the intricacies of their design.

Jim Henson's Creature Shop was responsible for the character design and performance of Dawn and Nalu, which are used for demonstration purposes and hosting live events. Two performers perform each character - one for the facial expressions and voice, and one for the body movements. When in use, the performers of the HDPS are out of the audience's sight, yet have the ability to incorporate characteristics of the audiences into their performances.
