One of many adaptations of Hugh Lofting's books from the '20s through the '50s, "Dr. Dolittle" is a film about a doctor who finds out that he can understand what animals are saying; and the animals find out that he understands. It was both produced and distributed by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation.
